San Diego, CA (April 26, 2009) – The San Diego Celebrity Classic celebrated it’s 11th year of success April 24-26 at Morgan Run Resort & Club in Rancho Santa Fe. Thousands of spectators and sport enthusiasts from throughout the Greater San Diego Area attended this very unique event. The tournament featured over 40 celebrities from the NFL, NHL, NBA, and MLB as well as Olympians and stars from television and motion pictures. Celebrities including Jerry Rice, Andre Reed, Bruce Jenner, Mike Eruzione, Rollie Fingers, Chris Chandler, Drew Brees, Ray Romano, Grant Fuhr and many more graciously gave of their time in support of, and to compete in the Celebrity Classic this year. Jack Marin – 2009 Celebrity Classic Tournament Champion

Jack Marin, who shot an impressive first-round 1-under par (70) on Saturday and followed up with 2-over par (73) on Sunday, finished the Tournament 1-over par with a total score of 143 to become the 2009 San Diego Celebrity Classic Tournament Champion.

“It’s always fun winning. I was nervous and my hands were shaking on the 18th hole. I was thinking to myself, ‘How many ways can I mess this up’. I love coming to Morgan Run. I love Integrated Sports Marketing and their staff. The Celebrity Classic is always a great event to come to” says Marin. 

Marin played in the NBA from 1966-77 with the Baltimore Bullets, Houston Rockets, Buffalo Braves and Chicago Bulls. He was a two-time NBA All-Star selection and led the NBA in free throw percentage in 1972 (.894). Marin scored over 12,500 points in his 11-year NBA career. This victory at the 2009 Celebrity Classic marks his first win in his 11 years playing here at Morgan Run Club & Resort.
